What’s on in January?

After the excitement of December and all of the festivities, January can feel like a bit of an anti-climax. It may be cold and rainy, and everyone might be skint, however that doesn’t mean you can’t still have a good time! We’ve found a few fun things to do in the area for those weekends you’re bored, but not bored enough to start your assignments!


Cheshire Oaks Outlet

January sales are often a great time to get a few bargains after Christmas, and at Cheshire oaks you can get designer brands discounted even further. They also have loads of places to eat and drink to, so it’s a great day out to have with friends and family!



Chester Zoo

Wrap up warm for this one as it might be a little cold in January, however there’s still plenty to see and it won’t be as busy as it is in prime time. There’s still events going on, such as the Bird Event, and its cheaper that the high season too.



Lion Salt Works

For an educational yet entertaining and interesting day out for the whole family, head down to the Lion Salt Works in Northwich. It was voted the UK’s Best Heritage Project and its very easy to see why! They run a ,lot of events for both adults and children, and it also has a café and play area too.




Chester’s newest large attraction, The Storyhouse, is a multi award-winning £37m theatre, library, restaurant and cinema. There’s always a wide range of things going on, including a sing-along showing of the Greatest Showman!
