Abbey Rentals was formed in 1998 and the directors, Tim and Alison, have been in the letting business 10 years prior to this. With 30 years of development and practice under our belt, we, like all our properties, have solid foundations. Both owners of Abbey have a depth of experience in not only the industry itself, but all matters relating. Ranging from accountancy, local authority matters and interior design, we have a pool of knowledge that has enabled us to grow and expand for decades.

We’re changing

Our new website is just a drop in the ocean. Abbey Rentals is working behind the scenes on a new, exclusive tenant app for mobiles. On this, you’ll be able to pay your rent at the click of a button, log maintenance issues within seconds, and have easy access to all your important contracts and documents.

With the move to our brand new office fast approaching, we’re excited to soon reveal our stylish marketing suite and outdoor decking area ready for sign-up celebrations and sunny summer discussions. Our fresh location also has private offices for confidential chats and concerns, so we’ll be able to give you our uninterrupted attention.

This past year has also seen big changes within our staff, and we’re thrilled at not only the wealth of experience we have on board, but our enthusiastic and young student staff that keep us up to date with what you guys want from us!

With Abbey undergoing a huge transformation this year, we can’t wait to show you what else we have in store.

We pay all your bills for you

Every property on our books has all your utility bills included within the rental price, which means one less thing for you to worry about. Say goodbye to shower length arguments and cold winter nights when you’re saving for Christmas presents, we’ve got it covered. All our prices include water, electricity, gas and broadband, and all students are Council Tax exempt. The only thing we don’t cover is your TV licence.

However, when it comes to where you’re going to live for a year, we believe that choice is ESSENTIAL! We have all the best locations

We know that the extra 5 minutes in bed for 9AM lectures are everything. Whether you’re studying on Parkgate Road or another Campus, we are bound to have a house that is in a prime location and will allow you to abuse your snooze button. Draw a search radius on our interactive map when searching through our array of houses, or click on a house that takes your fancy and it will tell you how long it takes to walk there. If you’re new to Chester and don’t know the area, give us a call and we’ll make sure you’re looking in the right place.

We have a full-time Maintenance Manager

For all houses managed by Abbey Rentals (excluding Let Only) we have our resident handy man, Alan. All you need to do is give the office a call or send us an email and we always endeavour to resolve the issue promptly. We also have an in-house Plumber, Roofer, Joiner, Locksmith and Electrician which means any problem that may arise can be resolved within a short lead time. With our new App on the horizon, maintenance will be quicker than ever.

We let you know when we’re coming over

Communication is key and therefore we have developed a booking software which enables us to send everyone in your house a text message at the touch of a button.  Where possible we will let you know when Alan is coming over to sort maintenance issues and we will always inform you when another contractor is due to visit or carry out works. During signing season, when we set up a viewing for your house you will receive a text message stating the time and date of the viewing and you’ll even receive a reminder the day of! Plus, with viewings commencing from 11AM, you have plenty of time to hide the debris of cheesy chips, pop your beer bottles in the recycling and make your bed!

We don’t bite

Even though we are one of the largest Student Letting Agents in Chester, our team is quite small which means we are not only colleagues, but great friends too. This means we’re always in a good mood because let’s be honest, who wouldn’t be working alongside their pals? All of our staff are friendly, approachable and eager to help.  If you have any queries or concerns, the office door is always open.

We make everything simple

We understand that you don’t come to University to spend your time worrying about signing for a house and paying rent, so we have an easy letting process in place to make everything straight forward. We also tie in your rent instalments with your student loan dates, which is paid via bank transfer when you receive it, so no need to worry about becoming overdrawn if it’s late! For any late payments all you need to do is pop into the office and fill in a form. 

We genuinely care and we’re always looking to improve

Every tenant matters and we always try our best to make sure that their concerns are heard and that they feel able to talk to us. We are stepping up our game with tenant communication along with our general service and can honestly say that we want each tenant to feel at home with us. As stated above, Abbey Rentals is undergoing some exciting changes and we can’t wait to see what you think.
