Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

If you don’t go out and drink a Guinness today, what are you doing?

Did you know that St. Patrick’s Day has been celebrated for over 1000 years? You probably know him as he man how brough Christianity to Ireland, but the truth is that Christianity was already in Ireland before he came there. He was however the most successful missionary in Ireland. He was so successful because he merged the old Irish religious traditions in with Christianity, creating amongst other things the famous Celtic cross.

But enough about the history! Today, we celebrate by wearing green clothes and hats and having fun with friends. Many pubs in Chester will partake in the celebration with decorations and beer, so it’s going to be a busy night in town tonight.
